Why Height Requirements Matter More at a Combo Park
Funtown Splashtown USA is two parks in one — a traditional amusement park (Funtown USA) and a water park (Splashtown USA). That means two separate sets of height rules, and they apply across roughly 50 rides, slides, and attractions. Knowing them in advance saves a lot of disappointment at the loading platform.
All measurements are taken with shoes on. There are no exceptions. If you are borderline, put on the thickest-soled sneakers you own — the park explicitly measures with footwear.
Children under 38 inches ride for free and can access all Family and Kiddie Rides unless otherwise noted, provided they are accompanied by someone 48 inches or taller who holds a Funtown or Combination bracelet.

Practical Tips for Families With Short Kids
Measure at home first. The park has a height check station at the entrance, but unofficial pre-measurement at home with shoes on tells you exactly what your options are before you buy tickets.
The 38-inch line is the key threshold. Kids under 38 inches are free and can ride nearly everything in the kiddie area. Once they hit 38 inches with shoes on, they unlock a big jump in options — including Liquid Lightning and Pirate's Paradise without restriction.
The 48-inch line unlocks the park. At 48 inches, kids can ride Excalibur, Dragon's Descent, Tornado, and the Water Coaster independently. This is the milestone most parents are waiting for.
Grand Prix Racers have the highest bar. At 58 inches to drive (roughly 4'10"), this one catches a lot of older kids off guard. Anyone shorter rides passenger — still fun, but manage expectations ahead of time.
Rider swap is available. If one parent needs to wait while the other rides a height-restricted attraction, ask the ride operator about the rider swap policy so nobody burns extra time in line.
