The Park's Season Is Compact — So Are the Events
Funtown Splashtown USA operates a tight seasonal window: Funtown USA (the amusement park side) opens Memorial Day weekend in late May, and both parks run through Labor Day in early September. That is roughly 15 weeks of operation. Within that window, the park runs a focused events calendar rather than the year-round event sprawl you see at major chain parks.
Unlike Six Flags or Cedar Fair properties, Funtown Splashtown USA does not operate Halloween or Christmas seasonal extensions. The park closes after Labor Day and does not reopen for fall or winter events. If you are expecting a "Fright Fest" or "Holiday in the Park" analog, that is not part of this park's operating model.
What the park does run is worth knowing about.

All Grown Up — 21+ Adult Nights
This is the signature special event at Funtown Splashtown USA and the most-discussed event in local media each summer.
What it is: A 21-and-older evening event that runs from 7:30 PM to 11:00 PM on select Saturday nights during the summer season. The park is open exclusively to adult guests — no children. Alcohol is available. Live music is featured ("All Grown Up LIVE!" is a variant with a live performance focus). Rides operate.
The appeal: For the large number of adults in Maine who grew up going to Funtown as kids, this event is a nostalgia hit — the experience of the park without navigating around strollers, without managing height-restriction disappointment, with a beer in hand. It also draws a younger adult crowd (21–35) looking for a distinct summer night out.
2026 dates: Three Saturday nights during the summer season, running 7:30 PM to 11:00 PM. Specific 2026 dates are announced by the park in late spring — check funtownsplashtownusa.com/all-grown-up-event/ for confirmed dates.
Tickets: Require specific All Grown Up event tickets — your regular season pass does not grant entry. Tickets must be purchased in advance. No reentry once you leave for the night.
Rules that matter:
- Must be 21 or older; physical state-issued photo ID required at the gate — non-negotiable, no digital IDs
- No outside food or beverages upon entry
- Bag policy: small clutch-style bags only (10 inches x 6 inches x 2 inches); no backpacks or large bags
- If you are suspected of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol upon arrival, you will be denied entry without a refund
- Anyone who cannot maintain a mature adult evening will be removed without a refund
What to expect: All major rides run. The event is popular enough that some rides do develop lines — Excalibur and Dragon's Descent in particular. Getting there at 7:30 PM (open) gives you the best shot at all the coasters before lines build.

Regular Season Operating Events
Beyond All Grown Up, the park's events calendar during the standard operating season includes:
Discount Days and Promotional Events: The park periodically runs promotional discount days — these are announced on the official events calendar and through their social media. Checking funtownsplashtownusa.com/events-calendar/ before your visit can reveal discounted admission windows you would otherwise miss.
Group Events and Private Rentals: The park accommodates group events, school trips, and company outings. Group rates are available for parties of a certain size. Separate scheduling through the group events page applies.
Summer Kids Programming: The park's nature as a family destination means the calendar during July and August leans toward family-friendly programming rather than themed events. Specific programming varies by season.

What the Park Does Not Do
No Halloween event. There is no Fright Fest, Howl-O-Scream, or extended-season Halloween event. The park closes for the season around Labor Day and does not reopen for fall. The Whispering Pines Haunted Hotel dark ride operates year-round (within the season) — it is not a seasonal Halloween attraction, it is a permanent ride.
No Christmas/holiday event. No Holiday in the Park, Winter Wonder, or similar extension. The facility is seasonal and does not operate in winter.
No nightly entertainment schedule. This is not a park with a scheduled parade, fireworks, or nightly live show as a standard operating feature. Events are discrete dates on the calendar, not daily programming.

How to Stay Informed
Funtown Splashtown USA announces events on a rolling basis, and dates for special events like All Grown Up sell out. The most reliable approach:
1. Bookmark funtownsplashtownusa.com/events-calendar/ and check it in early May when the season schedule is typically finalized
2. Follow the park's Facebook page (facebook.com/funtownsplashtownusa) — this is where flash promotions and event announcements appear first
3. Sign up for their email list if available — the park communicates promotional dates directly to subscribers
For All Grown Up specifically: tickets release in spring, and Saturday night events in peak summer (July) sell through quickly. If this is something you want to attend, do not wait until June to look for tickets.

Crowd Impact of Events
All Grown Up nights are separate from the regular operating day — they run after park close (the day's general admission guests leave by 6 PM, the event starts at 7:30 PM). They do not impact or inflate daytime crowd levels.
The highest-attendance regular operating days are mid-July through mid-August on hot weekend days, driven purely by summer vacation schedule and weather rather than any event calendar. Early season (late May, June) and late season (late August) offer the best combination of full ride access and manageable crowds.
