Knott's Berry Farm Height Requirements: Every Ride Listed
Knott's Berry Farm has a wide range of rides — from Camp Snoopy toddler attractions to full-inversion coasters that require riders to be 52 inches or taller. Before you get to the gate, know exactly what your group can ride. This list covers every major attraction with confirmed height requirements.
Big Thrill Coasters (48"–54" Required)
These are the park's marquee rides. If you're under the minimums, you'll need to sit these out.
- Silver Bullet — 54" minimum. An inverted coaster with six inversions. Tallest requirement in the park.
- Xcelerator — 52" minimum. Hydraulic-launch coaster that hits 82 mph in about 2.3 seconds. No exceptions.
- HangTime — 48" minimum. Dive coaster with a vertical drop and 5 inversions including a stall loop unique in the US.
- GhostRider — 48" minimum. The park's classic wooden coaster. Rough, fast, and worth it.
- Sierra Sidewinder — 48" minimum to ride alone, 42" with a supervising companion.
- Jaguar! — 48" minimum. A family-style coaster that's tamer than the others but still has that restriction.
- Pony Express — 48" minimum. Launches you forward and simulates galloping — great for riders hitting that 48" mark for the first time.
Family Rides (36"–46" or Supervised)
These attractions work for school-age kids or younger children with a supervising adult.
- Timber Mountain Log Ride — 46" to ride alone, 36" with a supervising companion. One of the oldest log rides in the world.
- Calico Mine Ride — 46" to ride alone, or accompanied by a supervising companion for shorter riders. A classic dark ride from 1960.
- Bigfoot Rapids — 46" minimum. A whitewater raft ride that will get you wet.
- Calico Railroad — 46" minimum. A steam train that loops the park perimeter — good for a rest.
- Snoopy's Tenderpaw Twister Coaster — 42" alone, 36" with a supervising companion. The newest coaster in Camp Snoopy.
- Timberline Twister — 36" minimum, 69" maximum. A spinning family coaster in Camp Snoopy.
- Balloon Race — 36" minimum, or with a supervising companion for shorter riders. Gentle balloon-themed spinner.
- Jeep Ride — 36" minimum. A Camp Snoopy classic.
Camp Snoopy Little Kid Rides (Under 36" or No Requirement)
Camp Snoopy was redesigned in 2024 with a Beagle Scout theme and most of its attractions accommodate toddlers.
- Beagle Express Railroad — No height requirement. A train ride through Camp Snoopy with Peanuts characters.
- Flying Ace Aerial Chase — Low or no minimum. Gentle airplane spinner.
- Charlie Brown's Kite Flyer — No minimum height. A slow swing ride for toddlers.
- Red Baron — No height minimum for accompanied children. Biplane spinner.
- Camp Bus — No minimum. A bouncing vehicle ride for the littlest visitors.
- Treetop Racer — Beagle Scout-themed rally ride, low height threshold.
- Camp Snoopy Jamboree — No height requirement. A train route to the Jamboree area.
Thrill Rides with Additional Restrictions
Some rides have secondary requirements beyond height:
- Xcelerator has a weight restriction and guests may be asked to demonstrate they fit the lap bar safely.
- HangTime uses over-the-shoulder restraints — guests with larger frames should try the test seat at the ride entrance before queuing.
- Silver Bullet — Over-the-shoulder harnesses; test seat available at the ride entrance.
- GhostRider, HangTime, Silver Bullet — As of September 2025, these three rides require paid lockers for loose items. If it doesn't fit in your pocket, plan on paying for a locker before you queue.
How to Measure Before You Go
Knott's uses the standard barefoot measurement at the ride entrance. Shoes can add about an inch, but operators measure without them. If your child is borderline at 47" or 51", measure at home before the trip so you're not surprised at the gate. The park has wristband programs (ask at Guest Services) that let you pre-check your child's height and mark them for the day, saving re-measurement at every ride.
Rides with No Height Requirement
Beyond Camp Snoopy, a few park-wide attractions have no height requirement:
- Fiesta Village carousel — any height, any age
- Shows and live entertainment — no restrictions
- Calico Saloon — stage show, all ages welcome
- Ghost Town walking area and shops — no restrictions
If you're visiting with a mix of ages, Camp Snoopy is your home base for the youngest riders. The 36"–46" bracket opens up most of the family-tier rides. Once a rider clears 48", nearly the full park is available except Silver Bullet and Xcelerator.
