Kings Island Height Requirements: Every Ride Listed
Nothing kills the mood faster than reaching the front of a 45-minute line and finding out your kid is two inches too short. Kings Island posts height requirements at every ride entrance, but knowing them in advance lets you plan your day instead of improvising at the gate.
Note that Kings Island and Cedar Point adjusted height requirements for several rides in 2025. The list below reflects the current requirements as of 2026.

What "With Responsible Adult" Means
Some rides list a lower height threshold if a rider is accompanied by an adult. The adult must ride alongside the child — standing at the gate does not count. Kings Island defines a responsible adult as someone 16 or older.

Tips for Families Near the Height Cutoffs
Get measured at the gate, not at home. Shoes add up to an inch, and kids who measured borderline at home sometimes fall short barefoot. Kings Island uses a measuring stick at the main entrance where you can get an official wristband if your child is within an inch of a cutoff — that wristband signals ride operators and avoids repeated measuring.
54-inch rides dominate the coaster lineup. Orion, Diamondback, Flight of Fear, and Invertigo all require 54 inches. If your child is 52 or 53 inches, they can still ride Banshee and Drop Tower but will miss the two biggest coasters.
48-inch unlocks most of the park. The Beast, Mystic Timbers, Adventure Express, and The Bat all sit at 48 inches. A child who hits that mark has access to most of the park's coaster lineup.
36 inches is the Planet Snoopy threshold. Snoopy's Soap Box Racers and Woodstock Express both require 36 inches and are approachable first coasters for young kids.
No-requirement rides exist throughout the park. Grand Carousel, Boo Blasters on Boo Hill, and Beagle Scout Acres have no minimums. These are the anchors for families with toddlers.

When Requirements Changed
In May 2025, Kings Island (along with Cedar Point) updated height restrictions on several rides. If you visited before that and remember different numbers, the current chart supersedes those. Always check the board at the ride entrance on the day of your visit — the listed requirement is the operative one regardless of what any third-party site says.
