The Fast Answer

Most rides at Disneyland have no height requirement at all. Of the attractions that do have a minimum, the cutoffs cluster at 35", 38", 40", 42", and 46". Once a child hits 48" they can ride everything at the resort. About three-quarters of the total ride count is open to guests of any height.

No Height Requirement

These rides are open to everyone, including lap infants (with adult supervision):

35 Inches — Minimum Height

38 Inches

40 Inches — The Big Unlock

Hitting 40" opens up the most rides in one jump. These all require 40" or taller:

Disney California Adventure:

42 Inches

44 Inches

46 Inches — The Tallest Requirement at Disneyland Park

48 Inches — The Magic Number

At 48" a guest can ride every attraction at the entire Disneyland Resort. No single ride at either park exceeds a 48" cutoff.

Rider Switch (Rider Swap)

If one adult in your party must stay behind because a child doesn't meet a height requirement, use Rider Switch. One adult rides while the other waits with the child. When the first adult exits, the second adult (and up to two guests from the original party) can use the Lightning Lane entrance without waiting in the standby line again. Ask any Cast Member at the attraction entrance to get set up.
