Ride Boarding Pass — Holiday World's Accommodation Program

Holiday World does not use the DAS (Disability Access Service) name that Disney uses, but the park has an equivalent: the Ride Boarding Pass. This is issued at Holiday World Services for guests with limited mobility or circumstances that make standing in a standard queue difficult.

How it works:

To get a Ride Boarding Pass, go to Holiday World Services at the front of the park. Bring any relevant documentation if you have it, though the park does not require a formal diagnosis — staff assess needs individually. Contact the park at 877-463-2645 or 812-937-4401 ahead of your visit if you have questions about specific circumstances.

Wheelchair and ECV Access

All restaurants and gift shops in both Holiday World and Splashin' Safari are wheelchair accessible. Accessible restrooms are available throughout both parks.

For rides: the vast majority require that guests using a wheelchair or ECV transfer to the ride vehicle. The park's position is that ride operators are not specially trained to physically assist guests with transferring, so guests who need transfer assistance should bring a companion who can help.

Practical note: if you're planning to ride most attractions, having a companion present for transfers significantly reduces friction at each ride. Planning your route in advance to minimize backtracking helps when wheelchair mobility is involved.

The 2026 Accessibility Guide lists specific accommodations for each attraction, including:

Downloading the guide before your visit and flagging specific rides is the best preparation. The park is transparent about which restraint types and seat widths apply to each attraction — this is more useful information than a general accessibility statement.

Sensory Considerations

Holiday World's Halloween programming (Happy Halloween Weekends) includes attractions with strobe lights and loud noises, specifically called out in the event description. Carnival Chaos, the haunted maze, explicitly includes both. If you're visiting during a Halloween Weekend with a guest who has sensory sensitivities, be selective about which special event attractions you enter. The hayride, corn maze, and Trick-or-Treat Trail are less intense.

During standard park operating days, the dry park rides don't include special lighting effects, but Thunderbird's launch is sudden and loud — something to prep sensory-sensitive riders for.

Service Animals

Service animals are permitted in the park. Specific ride-by-ride policies for service animals should be confirmed with Holiday World directly, as individual ride constraints affect whether a service animal can accompany a guest on a given attraction.

Parking Accessibility

Accessible parking is available in both parking lots. The lots are flat and the crosswalk from the main lot to the park entrance is accessible. No tram service is available from the parking lot to the entrance, so factor that walking distance into your plan for guests with limited mobility.
