Wild Adventures Height Requirements: Every Ride Listed
Nothing kills a park day faster than getting to the front of the line and finding out your kid is two inches too short. Wild Adventures posts height requirements at the entrance to each ride, but having the full list before you leave home makes the whole day go smoother.
Wild Adventures uses a range-based system for most family rides. Instead of a single minimum, many rides have a "must be between X and Y inches" rule, which effectively sets both a floor for small children and a ceiling that keeps adults off certain kids-only attractions. Here is what the park currently requires.
Thrill Rides
These are the rides that need a solid height minimum before you even step in line:
- Boomerang (classic shuttle coaster) — 48 inches minimum
- Aviator (swinging pendulum) — 42 inches minimum; riders under 48 inches must be accompanied by a supervising companion
- Wahoo (flume ride / water attraction) — check current park signage; generally 42 inches
- Island Falls (water ride) — updated for 2026 with two new boats; confirm height at the gate
The Cheetah wooden coaster, which had a 48-inch minimum, was retired in January 2021 and will not be returning.
Family Rides
These rides welcome most of the family, with adult accompaniment rules for the smallest riders:
- Safari Train — under 42 inches requires a supervising companion
- Tilt-A-Whirl — riders between 32 and 46 inches require an adult; above 46 inches, no companion needed
- Wacky Wheels (teacup-style) — between 36 and 46 inches requires an adult companion
- Whirling Wildcats — between 36 and 48 inches requires an adult companion
- Turtle Twist — must be between 36 and 52 inches to ride
- Horizon Wheel (Ferris Wheel, relocated to Water's Edge for 2026) — no height minimum listed; small children require adult
- Boat Parade (new for 2026, Water's Edge) — family ride, confirm height at entrance
- Wing Swinger (new for 2026, Water's Edge) — family swing ride, confirm height at entrance
Discovery Outpost — Kids Area Rides
Discovery Outpost is the dedicated children's zone with 6 rides built for younger guests. These have range requirements rather than strict minimums:
- Outpost Express (mini coaster) — riders between 36 and 44 inches must have an adult
- Flying Gators — riders under 36 inches must be accompanied by an adult
- Swampwater Snake (kids coaster) — riders under 36 inches must have an adult
- Okefenokee Friends — must be between 32 and 52 inches
- Trail Trackers — riders under 36 inches must be accompanied by an adult
Splash Island Waterpark Rides
Water slides and waterpark attractions operate under separate height and weight policies. Always check current signage at each slide entrance, as waterpark requirements can change by season based on slide inspections.
- Paradise River (Lazy River) — voted Best Lazy River in America by USA Today 10Best; no height minimum, all ages
- Water slide attractions — varies by slide; taller body slides typically require 48 inches
Practical Notes
Measure at home the morning of your visit. Children often measure differently in shoes versus bare feet, and parks measure in bare feet or socks at many attractions. Knowing your child is 41 inches at home versus 44 inches saves you from guesswork.
The Accessibility Center near the park entrance can help clarify ride restrictions if your child uses mobility aids or if you have questions about companion seating. They will issue a Ride Access Card if needed.
The Wild Adventures mobile app lists ride type, description, and height requirements for every attraction and is worth downloading before your visit.
New for 2026: The Boat Parade and Wing Swinger in the Water's Edge area are brand new. Ride hosts will have final say on any requirement specifics at the loading platform.
The park typically does not publish a single comprehensive chart online, so the app and the Accessibility Center are your two best real-time sources. When in doubt, ask a team member at the ride entrance — they check heights dozens of times per day and know the rules cold.
