Cedar Point Height Requirements: Every Ride Listed
Cedar Point has more roller coasters than any other park on the planet, and the height requirements span from no minimum for Planet Snoopy kiddie rides all the way up to 54 inches for some of the biggest thrills. Knowing these numbers before you walk through the gate will save you real grief — nothing kills momentum like getting turned away after a 45-minute wait.
Note that Cedar Point updated height requirements on three rides (Iron Dragon, Slingshot, and Troika) for the 2025 season. Always verify at the gate sign before queuing.
54-Inch Requirement (4 feet 6 inches)
These are the park's biggest, fastest, or most intense attractions:
- Top Thrill 2 — 54 in. The relaunched version of the original Dragster hits 120 mph with a backward spike element. This remains the park's signature statement ride.
- Steel Vengeance — 52 in. (Some sources list as 54 in.; check the gate sign.) Consistently ranked the world's best hybrid coaster. 200+ feet tall, 200+ airtime moments.
- Maverick — 52 in. Compact but brutal. Shoulder-to-shoulder with intense directional changes and a launch mid-ride.
52-Inch Requirement (4 feet 4 inches)
- GateKeeper — 52 in. Wing coaster at the front entrance. Six inversions, riders hang on either side of the track.
- Raptor — 52 in. Inverted coaster with six inversions. One of the best B&M inverts ever built and still holds up after 30 years.
- Valravn — 52 in. World-record dive coaster. Holds you at the top of a 214-foot drop for a few seconds before going vertical.
- Siren's Curse — 52 in. Cedar Point's 2025 addition. First tilt coaster in North America. Hits 160 feet and 58 mph with a track section that literally tilts vertical.
- Magnum XL-200 — 52 in. Classic from 1989, first coaster over 200 feet. Airtime is still violent.
48-Inch Requirement (4 feet)
- Millennium Force — 48 in. 310-foot giga coaster. Consistently in top-10 lists worldwide. Smooth at speed.
- Rougarou — 48 in. Stand-up coaster converted to floorless. Six inversions.
- Wicked Twister — 48 in. Double-inverted impulse coaster. Launches forward and backward up twisted spikes.
- Gemini — 48 in. Dual-track racing coaster. Great for families who just cleared 48 inches.
- Mean Streak — No longer operating; replaced by Steel Vengeance.
- Cedar Creek Mine Ride — 48 in. Family mine train. Smoother than the bigger coasters but still qualifies as a coaster.
- Iron Dragon — Height requirement lowered for 2025. Check gate sign; previously 46 in.
- Pipe Scream — 48 in.
- Skyhawk — 52 in. Giant swing ride, 125 feet.
- MaxAir — 52 in. Giant frisbee ride.
- Power Tower — 48 in. Dual-action drop tower — some sides shoot up, some drop.
- WindSeeker — 52 in. Swing ride that climbs 301 feet.
- Troika — Changed for 2025 season; check gate sign.
46-Inch Requirement
- Corkscrew — 46 in. Park classic, still running since 1976. Double-corkscrew inversion visible from the midway.
- Scrambler — No minimum.
42-Inch Requirement
- Blue Streak — 42 in. Wooden out-and-back. Rough but fast and a park icon.
- Wilderness Run — 42 in. Family coaster in Planet Snoopy/Camp Snoopy area.
- Woodstock Express — 42 in. Junior coaster in the kids area.
No Height Requirement (or Under 36 Inches With Adult)
Planet Snoopy and Camp Snoopy contain the park's youngest-friendly rides:
- Peanuts Road Rally
- Snoopy's Space Race
- Snoopy's Deep Sea Divers
- Peanuts Coastersaurus
- Snoopy's Express Railroad
- Charlie Brown's Wind-Up
- Woodstock Gliders
- Various spinning and bouncing rides
Most of these have an adult supervision requirement rather than a height minimum, meaning a parent needs to ride or stand by.
Rides That Changed for 2025
Iron Dragon, the suspended swinging coaster that runs over the lagoons, had its height requirement lowered for 2025. Slingshot and Troika also saw requirement changes. If you have a child right on the border of a number, check the posted sign at each attraction — the official gate sign supersedes anything written here or anywhere else online.
Measuring Stations
Cedar Point has ride height measurement stations near the main gate. If your child is borderline, get them measured and get a wristband before going deep into the park. The measurement station measurement is accepted at every ride, which avoids arguments at each individual attraction.
Ride With Loose Articles Rules
Several major rides require that all loose articles go into paid lockers before you queue. This applies to Top Thrill 2, Steel Vengeance, Maverick, Millennium Force, Valravn, GateKeeper, Raptor, and Siren's Curse. Lockers run $2 to $4 per use, payable by card only. If you're hitting multiple locker rides in a row, consider the all-day locker near the main gate with in-out privileges.
