Disability Access Service (DAS)

DAS is Disney's primary program for guests whose disability prevents them from waiting in a traditional standby queue. It is not a front-of-line pass -- it gives you a return time equivalent to the current standby wait, so you can wait elsewhere instead of in the physical queue.

Who DAS is for: Guests with non-visible disabilities -- neurological conditions, autism spectrum disorder, anxiety disorders, PTSD, and other conditions that make waiting in a standard queue difficult. DAS is not designed for guests with mobility issues who use a wheelchair or scooter; those guests have separate accommodations because most queues are accessible.

How to register: You can set up DAS before your visit through a video chat with a Disney cast member, available 2 to 60 days in advance. Go to the Disneyland app or website and look for the DAS pre-registration option. Alternatively, register in person at Guest Services inside the park on the day of your visit. Registration requires a conversation to determine eligibility; Disney does not accept medical documentation as automatic proof.

How it works in the park: Once registered, you can request a return time through the Disneyland app for most attractions. When the return time arrives, you enter through the Lightning Lane entrance. You can only hold one DAS return time at a time, but you can use Lightning Lane Multi Pass simultaneously.

Wheelchair and ECV Rental

Manual wheelchairs and ECVs (motorized scooters) are available for rent from the Stroller Shop, located just east of the Disneyland Park main entrance -- outside the gates. You do not need park admission to access the rental location.

If you bring your own wheelchair or ECV, it is welcome in the park. Width restrictions apply on some queues and at boarding areas. Cast members can advise at each attraction.

Ride Accessibility: What to Know Per Attraction

Every attraction at DCA has a specific accessibility configuration. A few key points:

Transfer required: Some rides require guests to transfer from a wheelchair into the ride vehicle. This includes Radiator Springs Racers, Incredicoaster, and Grizzly River Run. Cast members assist and can bring the vehicle to a complete stop for boarding.

Wheelchair-accessible vehicles: Toy Story Midway Mania has a modified boarding area where guests can ride in their wheelchair. WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure also accommodates wheelchair users without transfer.

ECV parking: ECVs generally cannot board ride vehicles. Guests transfer to a manual wheelchair (available to borrow at each attraction) or walk to the boarding area.

Drop tower (Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: BREAKOUT!): Guests with prosthetic limbs or certain medical devices should check with cast members before boarding. The ride's restraint system is specific and cast members at the front of the queue can verify fit before you wait.

Sensory Considerations

Loud attractions: Guardians of the Galaxy plays rock music at high volume during the ride. Incredicoaster has wind noise from speed. Toy Story Midway Mania has crowd noise and shooting sound effects throughout.

Dark attractions: Monsters, Inc. and Mater's Junkyard Jamboree have dark sections. Neither is frightening in the traditional sense, but guests sensitive to sudden darkness should be aware.

Strobe effects: Several attractions use strobe lighting. The Disneyland app notes which rides contain flashing lights under each attraction's description.

Quiet zones: The Animation Academy and Turtle Talk with Crush in Hollywood Land are low-stimulation environments. Redwood Creek Challenge Trail is an outdoor space with natural light and open air -- useful as a sensory reset.

Rider Swap for Guests with Disabilities

Rider Swap (also called Baby Swap) is available at all major attractions. If one member of your party cannot ride -- due to height, disability, or other reason -- one adult can wait with them while others ride, then swap into the Lightning Lane entrance without rejoining the standby queue. This works in combination with DAS as well.
