The History of the Great Pumpkin Coaster

The Great Pumpkin Coaster is the gentlest ride in this history, a pint-sized family coaster in Kings Dominion's Planet Snoopy. It is where a lot of young Virginians take their very first roller coaster ride.

Taxi Jam to Great Pumpkin

The coaster opened in the park's children's area under the name Taxi Jam, a simple oval circuit with a small first drop and a few gentle bunny hops built for the youngest riders. When the area was rethemed to Planet Snoopy, based on the Peanuts comic strip, the ride was renamed the Great Pumpkin Coaster, a nod to the classic Peanuts Halloween special.
